Yoga Without the Pants: Bed Yoga!

10 Minute Gentle Morning Yoga Sequence

Early morning yoga. Sleeping in.

My two favorite ways to start the day are at odds with each other. So what’s a girl to do?

Yoga in bed!

It’s no morning workout, but indulging in a few postures in the warm hug of your still-toasty blankets makes for a yummy way to wake-up.

Allow your stimulation to come by sinking into each posture without hurry. To complement that early sleepy, un-stretched state, keep your fragrant morning breath steady and calm by breathing in and out of your nose.

No rush here, be easy and languid – feel free to keep your eyes closed and enjoy the feeling of treating yourself first thing in the morning.

Another great thing is that these poses are always good, all day long!

ps. apologies in advance to my mom and friends for the too-frequent flashes of pale butt.

Sequence:

Above Arm Stretch | Sleepy-Girlasana
Opens up the heart, stimulates positivity

Reclining Goddess | Supta Baddha Konasana
Stretches and opens your inner thighs and groin

Spinal Twist | Ardha Matsyendrasana
Massages ascending and descending colon.
Preps you for a good morning poop.

Happy Baby | Ananda Balasana
Stretches inner groin, relaxes back spine, calms mind.

Forward Fold | Paschimottanasana
Relieves stress, anxiety, and constipation. Especially good for women during their menstrual cycles.

Bridge Pose | Setu Bandha Sarvangasana
Enegerizing; stretches chest, neck and spine.
Calms the brain.

Child’s Pose | Balasana
Stretches lower back, hips, thighs, knees and ankles

Melting Heart Pose (Puppy Dog) | Anahatasana
Cooling, backbend, opens up shoulders.

Cat/Cow | Bitilasana
Opens lungs for easier breathing, stretches lungs, hips and back.
Improves posture and balance, massages and stimulates organs in your lil’ belly.

Down Dog | Ahdo Mukha Svanasana
Energizing pose.
Stretches shoulders, hamstrings, calves, feet and hands.
Strengthens arms and legs.

    hi sherry! 我非常喜歡妳的博客,也覺得妳對於女性應為自己修養氣質的觀念很有意思。今天早上做了妳影片裡的瑜珈操後感覺超有精神哈哈,繼續加油哦 :)希望妳去中國時一路順風!

      Hi Amy!
Aww thanks so much for your kind words. I wish I could reply in Chinese, but I’m going to save that for 12 months from now. I’m so flattered you like the idea, hopefully better and better things will come about! I hope all is well in Taiwan and maybe we’ll get to see each other when I’m on that side of the world!!!!!
