Big Sur is a California jewel. Even getting there is delicious.
Close your eyes for a second and start your drive up the 101. Watch LA’s smoggy skyline get tinier and tinier until you pass into beachy Ventura county. Coast along creamy sand shoreline on the left and small cities that eventually turn into small towns on the right. Enter central coast. Curve along green and sepia hills dotted with happy, copper cows to the right and unspoiled, cerulean waves to the left. Open your windows and welcome the crisp air with a satisfying, satisfying inhale. Cruise for miles through tiny towns and people-less places. Press a little harder on your gas to start the ascent into Big Sur, but go slow and let your mouth fall at the endless blue of ocean and sky in front of you. Forget about your cell phone and take in the grand California of early American dreams.
Pinpointing the magic of Big Sur is impossible. Kind of like being in love. Whatever logical explanation you might have will only be negligible next to the magnificent fullness of your heart.
I took my APL tech-loom sneakers to Big Sur this weekend for a beautiful day of hiking on the coastline. City and natural scenery approved. My ADAY bra and Onzie leggings kept me tight and light throughout the weekend and definitely lent me some lift and sexy cred (that BACK, that MESH!), though I will be the first to admit, nature > Shay. This is ADAY is one of my favorite lines to have come along this year – forward thinking vision and incredibly handsome clothes. Watch for a post on details coming up.
PS: Had QUITE a mishap with the camera this weekend, so a lot of these were shot on my iphone 6, as well as a point and shoot — shoutout to Apple for giving us such sexy tech.
